Job Description - Mechanical Systems Designer

Mechanical Systems Designer - Entry Level

We’re partnering with a growing, relationship-driven company in the mechanical systems / HVAC space that is building out its next generation team! This is a career-launching role for someone who is hungry, technically curious, and ready to get hands-on across design, sales, and customer interaction. This is not a “sit behind a desk” job. You’ll be in the middle of real projects—designing systems, building quotes, working with customers, and helping close deals.

What You’ll Be Doing:

This role blends design + technical problem solving + sales execution:

  • Design residential and light commercial systems (including snow/ice melt and hydronic heating)

  • Translate customer ideas into practical, cost-effective system designs

  • Build material lists and develop quotes

  • Work directly with customers to refine solutions and win business

  • Follow up on active projects to ensure deals close (no cold calling—relationship-driven)

  • Collaborate with internal teams and manufacturers to optimize solutions

  • Manage a pipeline of projects with varying sales cycles (days to months)

  • Manage 8-12 designs per month

Must-Haves:

  • Mechanically inclined (HVAC, automotive, construction, engineering, etc.)

  • Strong curiosity around how systems work

  • Comfortable learning technical design tools and software

  • Willingness to wear multiple hats (design, sales, customer support)

  • High follow-through and accountability

Nice to Have:

  • HVAC or mechanical systems experience

  • Exposure to hydronic heating systems

  • Mechanical engineering or construction-related background

  • Experience transitioning from field work into design

Why this Role:

  • Real growth path — this is a starting point, not a dead-end job

  • Learn a highly specialized, in-demand skillset (hydronics & system design)

  • Work directly with leadership and experienced industry professionals

  • Be part of a tight-knit, team-oriented environment

  • Bonus potential as you grow and contribute to revenue

Benefits & Perks:

  • Competitive base + bonus

  • Comprehensive Health Coverage (medical, dental, vision) — employer-paid for employee

  • 401(k) with company match (up to 3%) + profit sharing opportunities

  • Paid Time Off:10 days in year one, 15 days after 2–5 years, Up to 5 weeks long-term

  • 8+ paid holidays (plus early closures around holiday weekends)

  • Hands-on training and mentorship (including technical software and system design)

  • Clear path for career advancement and increased earning potential
