Mechanical Technician

Position Statement:

Responsible for installation, repairing and maintaining mechanical equipment throughout the property. Perform routine maintenance on equipment and be able to diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues. Create and maintain maintenance and repair records and communicate with and support the Facilities Leadership team. Responsible for providing mechanical/maintenance services to all departments of the hotel and assisting with other projects and tasks as needed. Carries out all assigned work outlined or directed by the Supervisor and maintains Goldwynn Resort and Residences’ standard of operating procedures at all times. Is a member of the Emergency Team and comply with safety regulations and guidelines.

Position Summary:
• Make daily checks of equipment: Mechanical, public, and Back of house Areas per checklist. Report any irregularities and repairs where necessary.
• Carry out any plumbing tasks assigned by the Supervisor.
• Perform minor welding and soldering.
• Must be capable of understanding Blueprint readings as it relates to plumbing.
• Must be capable of making repairs to plumbing fixtures/piping, 1/2" to 4” PVC pipes.
• Must be capable of working independently and with minimal supervision.
• Carry out preventative maintenance, as necessary.
• Ensure roof drains are always free from debris.
• Carry out main drain repairs as required.
• Perform all work in accordance with the local authority rules and procedures.
• Return daily report in writing at the end of each shift.
• Makes mechanical rounds and record all readings as per checklist, and check equipment for proper operation.
• Record all guest/staff complaints in Logbook provided.
• Highlight all incomplete work and advise the Supervisor immediately.
• Check grounds, ensure all lights are lit at time specified (checklist / office).
• Ensure drains In the Garage and the hotel’s perimeter are always clean.
• Record utility readings (LPG, electricity etc.) as per checklist.

• Turn on/off equipment as per checklist per supervisor.
• Have basic knowledge with computers.
• Must have basic knowledge of HVAC, refrigeration, boilers, pool system, electrical and mechanical pumps equipment.
• Ensure generator day tank is always full and Generator checks are carried out as per schedule.
• Recognize industry safe work practices, hotel policies, rules, and procedures.

Qualifications:
● High School Diploma or related technical or equivalent vocational training preferred
● A minimum of 3 to 5 years’ experience or similar
● Mechanical experience preferred
● Strong mechanical aptitude and possess excellent problem-solving skills.
● Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
● Knowledge of safety regulations and guidelines
● Ability to work independently and as part of a team
● Good communication and interpersonal skills.
● Ability to multi-task
● Good time management skills
● Well-groomed, professional appearance.

● Basic Plumbing skills

● Goldwynn operates a twenty-four (24) hour business. Therefore, you will be scheduled to work shifts, which may change from time to time.
