Mechanical Technician

Superior Electrical, Mechanical, and Plumbing, Inc. is a state-wide service provider specializing in skilled trade services and construction. We are currently seeking a Mechanical Technician to perform commercial HVAC repairs and services for customers throughout Southern California. The Mechanical Technician is responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, repairing, and installing a variety of commercial HVAC systems. The ideal candidate will be able to work independently and collaboratively with a team.

Job sites are located across Southern California with commutes throughout Orange County, Los Angeles County, and the Inland Empire. Company vehicles are issued to technicians, allowing them to start their routes from their home address or the designated shop, depending on the day's assignments.  This is a full-time position with a Monday through Friday schedule. Start times may vary depending on the nature and location of the service calls.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on commercial HVAC equipment, including rooftop units, split systems, boilers, chillers, air handlers, pumps, and cooling towers
• Diagnose mechanical, electrical, and control system issues using diagnostic tools and technical schematics
• Troubleshoot, repair, or replace malfunctioning components such as motors, compressors, belts, fans, and thermostats
• Keep accurate records of work performed, parts used and recommended services
• Drive and maintain work vehicles within company guidelines
• Demonstrate safety procedures and protocols
• Mentor apprentice HVAC Technicians on industry best practices
• Additional duties and projects may be assigned to support the growth of the department

Requirements

• A minimum of three (3) years of recent and directly related experience in commercial HVAC systems, including diagnostics, repair, and maintenance in a field service environment
• EPA certification
• Proficient written and verbal English communication skills, including the ability to write reports and emails.
• Pass a pre-employment drug test and background check
• Valid driver license with an insurable driving record consisting of no more than two points on a driving record
• Willing to commute to various jobsites within Orange County, Los Angeles County and the Inland Empire
• Must be able to work according to safety guidelines, CALOSHA, and workplace policies
