Position: Mechanical Technician

Experience: A minimum of 3 years professional experience working with mechanical systems.

Minimum Education: H.S. Diploma or GED required; Associate degree or Technical Certification is a plus.

Compensation Range: $30.00 - $44.00/hour depending upon education, skills, and experience.

Job Description: The Mechanical Technician will provide assembly, integration, and test in support of the development of cutting-edge laser and electro-optical systems.

Responsibilities:

Effectively manage schedule and priorities with moderate daily direction to meet schedule objectives.
Material handling to include receipt and inspection of components.
Installation and integration of mechanical and electro-mechanical components (combination of COTS & custom mechanics).
Operate hand and power tools to complete mechanical assemblies specified by prints, schematics, and BOMS.
Thermal management systems assembly and test.
Additional duties related to facility support (clean rooms, chillers).
Work may be performed at 1851/1841 Lefthand Cir, 1301 Iowa Ave or Table Test Mtn Facility.

Required Experience / Capability:

Ability to work in a dynamic and at times stressful environment and maintain composure and good working relationships under stress. Requirements change frequently and rapid-turn solutions must be developed frequently.
Competence in maintaining cleanliness standards and operation in a clean room environment.
Comfortable working with wide range of basic shop equipment including the use of hand and power tools to complete mechanical assemblies specified by prints, schematics, and BOMS.
Positive attitude, strong mechanical aptitude, problem solving and troubleshooting skills and a willingness to develop creative solutions to time- sensitive problems.
Familiarity with safe operation of mechanical systems; operate with a safety first mindset.

Additional Desired Experience / Capability:

Expertise and competence in working with high power laser systems.
Electrical cables and components assembly and test.
