Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) – Travel Position

Location: Waukesha, WI
Job Type: Travel Contract
Duration: 13 weeks
Shift: 3x12s (Days or Nights, depending on facility needs)
Pay: $2,381/week

Job Description:

We are seeking an experienced Medical-Surgical Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team on a travel contract in Waukesha, WI. The Med Surg RN will provide compassionate, evidence-based care to a diverse patient population, collaborating with physicians and interdisciplinary teams to promote positive health outcomes. The ideal candidate is adaptable, detail-oriented, and comfortable managing a fast-paced hospital environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Deliver direct patient care to adult and geriatric patients with a wide variety of medical and surgical conditions.


• Monitor, assess, and document patient status, vital signs, and responses to treatment.


• Administer medications and treatments safely and accurately.


• Collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to develop and implement individualized care plans.


• Educate patients and families regarding conditions, treatments, and discharge instructions.


• Maintain accurate and timely patient records in compliance with hospital policies and regulatory standards.


• Respond effectively to emergencies and perform interventions as required.


• Uphold infection control and patient safety practices at all times.

Qualifications:

• Current and valid RN license in the state of Wisconsin (or compact license).


• Graduation from an accredited nursing program (ADN or BSN).


• Minimum of 1 year recent Med Surg nursing experience (travel experience preferred).


• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification; Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) preferred.


• Strong critical thinking, communication, and organizational skills.


• COVID vaccine and recent TB test (as required by facility).
