Summary:

Assists patients with activities of daily living, provides basic nursing care to non-acutely ill patients and assists in maintenance of a safe and clean environment under the direction and supervision of the Registered Nurse in charge of the team and/or unit.

Education, Training or Certifications Required:

• High School graduate or equivalent.
• Current BLS.
• Certified Nursing Assistant in good standing.
• Completes a Monitor course through MDIH or provides another arrhythmia course certificate and competency is validated.

Experience Required:

• Recent training/experience in medical terminology and training/expertise with delivering patient care.

Special Requirements:

• Basic computer skills preferred.

Cognitive Requirements:

• Ability to communicate effectively in English, both verbal and in writing. Additional languages preferred.
• Ability for high performance under stressful situations.
• Must be able to prioritize, multi-task and follow through.

Physical Demands:

• Able to stand/work for most of an 8-12 hour shift. Must be able to bend/lift 25-50 lbs (assisting patients in and out of bed, etc.).

• Potential exposure to blood body fluids
• Potential for exposure to contagious diseases.
• Potential for periods of high stress.
