ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Manage sales territory and client relationships for assigned HCM channels

  • Evaluate and monitor the performance of the AN Sales Team based on the overall AN revenue goal

  • Collaborate with Marketing to strategize AN initiative to support overall growth

  • Review and collaborate on forecasts for the AN Channel

  • Present and collaborate on supplemental opportunities that will assist HCM to meet/exceed

  • Focus sales efforts by understanding customers’ needs, budget and timeframes for assigned accounts by:

  • Engaging daily with potential new leads through client calls and meetings

  • Creating brand awareness and business development

  • Closing sales by building rapport with potential accounts; explaining product and service capabilities; overcoming objections; preparing contracts

  • Expanding sales in existing accounts by introducing new products and services; developing new sales opportunities based on customer needs and preferences

  • Preparing detailed activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, etc.


Communications



  • Build relationships with key contacts for successful partnerships

  • Communicate with association partners to understand initiatives and determine how HCM can align offerings to support association objectives

  • Provide reports on association, product, and metric updates to the team

  • Communicate and participate effectively with other team members to continually evaluate shared industry knowledge, develop competitive intelligence, and contribute to process improvement initiatives

  • Effectively manage internal/external sales support for American Nurse media channels and relationships to ensure operational efficiency

  • Collaborate with the Operations team to identify existing or newly developed projects or business opportunities

  • Present editorial team with client initiatives or ideas to drive content creation for enhanced revenue opportunities


Business And Product Development



  • Manage sales territory and client relationships for American Nurse Media Channels

  • Collaborate with association partners presenting solutions that align with their initiatives and strategy that will drive sales for both association and HCM.

  • Support team in managing new product or new partnership proposals

  • Participate in the development of strategies for successful journal renewals

  • Consult with marketing to assist with ideas to drive online traffic for client advertising

  • Provide editorial team content feedback from clients to enhance revenue opportunities


Competition



  • Keep abreast of industry developments through reviewing competition journals, websites, social media, etc., and communicate to the HCM team

  • Remain knowledgeable about trends in the industry

  • Obtain customer feedback regarding channels used other than HCM to market to their audience

  • Collaborate with associations to gain insight into market trends and identify areas for improvement for HCM


Financial



  • Ensure Revenue goals for all products are met or exceeded

  • Negotiate sales contracts (new and renewal), including seeking guidance on costing with VP of Finance & Operations

  • Review overall portfolio and proactively adjust product plan to improve/achieve performance with support from Finance


Team Support



  • Member of Executive Committee

  • Assist with corporate quarterly and annual goals

  • Contribute to corporate vision and passion to service our clients and partners while driving HCM growth

  • Lead sales strategy and team structure for AN

  • Coordinate logistics for internal and external sales and project meetings

  • Coordinate internal approvals for contract agreements

  • Lead and coordinate internal project objectives for HCM production and marketing


Required Skills:



  • Exceptional verbal, written and organizational, and follow-through skills required

  • Technical/Internet proficiency; this person will help drive digital sales!

  • Strong problem-solving and persuasive abilities

  • High work ethic and standards

  • Assertiveness

  • Eagerness to learn the digital media landscape and to keep updated on the latest digital advertising trends

  • Ability to meet deadlines and detail orientated

  • Must be motivated to build customer loyalty – grow each account strategically

  • Ability to interact and influence others in a positive manner while working and learning in a fast-paced environment

  • Results-oriented – eager to make the most of an aggressive, commission-focused compensation package


Qualifications



  • College degree preferred with a concentration in Business Management, Sales, Advertising, or Marketing

  • Microsoft Office Proficiency including PowerPoint

  • Professional Sales Experience - 3+ years

  • Sales experience in publishing is a plus

  • Sales experience with selling events and medical conferences, a plus
