Work Schedule

40 hours per week | 8:30am - 4:30pm, Monday through Friday

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent required from an accredited institution


• CNA/CMA/RMA/CCMA/LPN or similar clinical certification required


• Knowledge of Insurance verification/authorization processing preferred


• Computer skills in word processing, data spreadsheets and data presentation


• Ability to multi-task


• Must possess a positive attitude and service driven mentality for patients and co-workers, and must be a team player

Responsibilities

• Maintains a professional approach and communicates effectively with physicians, patients, and other members of the healthcare team


• Manages time effectively to ensure insurance authorizations have been obtained in a timely manner


• Medical record documentation is accurate and timely; proper format and language


• Exercises primary responsibility for scheduling patient visits based on criteria established by provider; meeting patient needs and urgency


• Schedule patient testing, lab test, medical clearances, physical therapy, 1^st post-op


• Obtains precertification/preauthorization/reference number from insurance companies prior to surgery for each procedure and test, using online application or by contacting insurer on the telephone


• Updates and verifies all insurance coverages for surgeries/procedures/testing. Provides timely notification of all non-covered services


• Assists in the ordering and stocking of supplies
