We have an immediate opening for a Medical Assistant at our busy and growing Ambulatory Surgery Center. This position requires a minimum of 2 years' experience as a Medical Assistant or in a Front Office Specialist position in ophthalmology, optometry, or a medical practice. Our ideal candidate should be able to multi-task, be self-motivated, patient-oriented and extremely dependable. We are looking for a candidate that can interact well with patients, doctors, managers and co-workers.
Job responsibilities include:
Able to communicate and greet all patients and answer incoming calls
Create, prepare and file patient charts
Intra-operative- assist transporting patients to the operating room, positioning patients, pouring fluids and autoclave OR instruments
Recovery- assist with discharge process, obtain vital signs and transport patient outside to car
Maintain compliance with all company policies and procedures.
Overtime may be required based on business needs.
Requirements
QUALIFICATIONS (Experience, Skills and Education):
Must be well organized and have the ability to work in a team-oriented environment
Have excellent computer skills
Communicate effectively with patients, physicians and team members.
Must uphold to the highest ethical principles of maintaining confidentiality and other performance standards.
Other duties as assigned
Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including ability to effectively communicate with internal and external customers.
Must be able to work under pressure and meet deadlines, while maintaining a positive attitude and providing exemplary customer service.
Ability to work independently and carry out assignments to completion within parameters of instructions given, prescribed routines, and standard accepted practices.
Graduate of an accredited Medical Assisting program
