Medical Assistant

This position is a 2nd shift position Monday-Thursday 11a-9:30p with slight room for flexible start/end times 

 ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:

Medical Assistants perform both clinical and administrative duties, including but not limited to:

· Clinical Support:

· Record and document vital signs for ASAM assessments and intakes

· Conduct medication refills in coordination with contracted pharmacy

· Maintain proper storage and logging of medications, including controlled substances

· Assist nurses with medication administration, client triage, and infection control

· Conduct drug screening for employees and clients as needed

· Participate in treatment team meetings as assigned

· Administrative & Compliance Tasks:

· Maintain accurate logs (refrigerator temps, AED, eyewash, spill kit, etc.)

· Perform regular expiration checks on OTC meds and first aid kits

· Complete daily shift reports and communication logs

· Respond to urgent/emergency medical concerns according to policy

· Ensure documentation is complete and compliant with AODE and CARF standards

· Environment of Care:

· Keep clinical spaces clean, safe, and organized

· Participate in monthly safety and infection control checks

Requirements

  QUALIFICATIONS:

· Preferred: Diploma, certification, or training as a Medical Assistant (MA), Certified Medical Assistant (CMA), State Registered Nurse Aide (SRNA), or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA). Related credentials (e.g., EMT, Respiratory Therapist) will also be considered.

· Note: Current Kentucky regulations do not require certification for this position. Relevant experience or post-hire training may substitute for licensure, pending supervision.

· Experience: 1-2 years preferred in a healthcare or behavioral health setting; addiction recovery experience strongly preferred.

· Other Requirements:

· - CPR Certification 

· - Valid Kentucky driver’s license

· - Knowledge of addiction, mental health, and co-occurring disorders

· - Ability to function in a fast-paced, structured environment
