Medical Assistant

Busy Dermatologist office seeks team player for full-time Medical Assistant position

The Medical Assistant works as part of the health care team by assisting the practice physician in providing high quality patient care in a professional manner. The ideal candidate will be energetic and able to remain focused in a busy atmosphere while delivering a high level of customer service.

• Supervise Medical Assistants
• Escort patients to exam rooms
• Assist Physician with exams and procedures, administering medications, and performing tests.
• Assist patients with questions about medications and wound care.
• File charts; ensure all related reports, labs and information is available in patients' medical records prior to their appointment
• Take telephone messages; provide feedback and answers to patient/physician/pharmacy calls
• Triage and process messages from patients and front office staff to physicians
• Clean and restock examination rooms
• Order medical supplies
• Sterilize instruments

• Ability to supervise staff 
• Exceptional customer service and phone etiquette 
• Ability to maintain effective and organized systems to ensure timely patient flow
• The ability to perform phlebotomy
• Candidates must consent to and pass a criminal background check

Job Type:

• Full-time: Monday-Friday, 8:00am – 5:00pm
• Pay rate starts at $25/hr

Experience:

• 4+ years medical assistant experience required; dermatology experience strongly preferred
• Supervising other staff strongly preferred
• Knowledge of medical terminology, HIPAA, and OSHA regulations

Education:

• High school diploma or equivalent
