Great communication skills and a willingness to be cross trained are highly valued.
Responsibilities include:
- Assist with answering office phone and fielding phone calls from patients to address clinical questions and concerns.
- Escort patients to exam rooms, complete initial intake, and start notes.
- Documenting in EMR system.
- Scribe for provider(s) during exam.
- Assist with procedures such as biopsies, excisions, and cosmetic procedures.
- Communicate with insurance companies and/or pharmacies to get prior authorizations for procedures and medications.
Qualifications:
- Strong interpersonal skills & work ethic.
- High standard of professionalism & integrity.
- Previous experience as a medical assistant in a healthcare setting.
- Dermatology experience is desired but not required.
- Familiarity with scribing (experienced applicants will be contacted first), prior authorizations and medical terminology.
- Attention to detail & accuracy is essential.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexible and quick on your feet.
- Bilingual (Spanish speaking) a plus but not required.
