Job Description - Medical Assistant

New Day Recovery is dedicated to transforming lives through comprehensive and compassionate addiction treatment services. Our mission is to provide personalized care that addresses the unique needs of each individual, empowering them to achieve long-term recovery and a brighter future.


 


Located in Niles, Ohio, New Day Recovery and sister-organization, On Demand Counseling, offer a full continuum of care, including detox, residential treatment, outpatient programs, and aftercare support. Our experienced and caring team is committed to creating a safe, supportive environment where clients can begin their journey to recovery. 



SUMMARY:           


Responsible for providing support services for the clinical staff.  Will work under the direct supervision of the DON This is an hourly position with schedule established to complete required duties.  This position is “non-exempt” from wage and hour regulations, as defined by the U.S, Department of Labor.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:




  1. Communicate as needed with staff regarding clients and service performed


  2. Performs duties as MA for


  3. Attends staff meetings


  4. Performs other clerical duties including copying, faxing and mailing as assigned.


 


ADDITIONAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:




  1. Performs other duties as assigned by the DON


 


REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:




  1. MA Certification


 


ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND PERSONAL CHARACTERISTICS:




  1. Must have good organizational, communication and language skills.


  2. Must possess general computer knowledge and general office equipment familiarity.


  3. Demonstrates the ability to communicate effectively with a variety of people.


  4. Demonstrates the ability for effectively function as a team member.


  5. Demonstrates the ability to effectively manage multiple tasks concurrently.




CERTIFICATIONS, LICENSES AND REGISTRATIONS:


 MA Certification or combination of education and experience in physician office.


PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.


  • Ability to perform job responsibilities in facilities and community-based residencies and buildings with multiple levels and without elevator or mechanical transportation.


  • Operates a computer and keyboard.
