Job Description - Medical Assistant

ADHD Online, the leading brand of Mentavi Health, is revolutionizing mental healthcare through telemedicine. Our core mission is to prioritize patients and deliver comprehensive mental health assessment and treatment services, all while upholding the highest standards of care and safety. We are seeking a Certified or Registered Medical Assistant to join our expanding team. As a non-patient-facing Medical Assistant, you will provide vital administrative support to patients throughout their treatment journey, addressing inquiries and coordinating various aspects of their care with our Independent Contracted Providers.



This position is in a hybrid setting Monday-Friday 8am - 5pm and will report to the Senior Manager of Patient Services. 



Pay Range: Starting at $18.50 per hour and is dependent upon related experience



Role and Responsibilities:



  • Working in collaboration with patients to support and assist them throughout their treatment journey 

  • Processing pharmacy transfers, medication refills, and cancellations

  • Responding to patients' inquiries about their treatment plan and helping to educate them on our services 

  • Working in collaboration with our Independently Contracted Provider Network in the EHR system to complete administrative tasks associated with appointments, support patient questions & requests

  • Coordinate additional medical testing requests

  • Handle Inbound and outbound calls

  • Assist with scheduling patients

  • Participate in process improvement activities to enhance patient care and service

  • Create a positive, professional, patient-oriented work environment for staff, patients and Independently Contracted Providers by supporting the mission and values of Mentavi Health

  • Collaboration with other departments and functions, as necessary  

  • Other duties and tasks as assigned



Required Education and Experience:



  • High School Diploma/GED required, some college preferred

  • Active and up to date Medical Assistant Certification or Registration

  • Minimum of 2 years of healthcare experience or patient services

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Proficiency in the ability to work in multiple software systems

  • Strong ability to use de-escalation techniques for dissatisfied patients

  • Adaptable to change 

  • Attention to detail



Preferred Education and Experience:



  • Two or more years of experience in Family or Internal Medicine, Mental Health, Substance Abuse, Telehealth

  • Experience operating in a contact/call center



Physical Requirements:



  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.

  • Must be able to lift up to 15 pounds at times.

  • Manual dexterity to operate a computer and other office equipment.



Required Skills/Abilities:



  • Ability to communicate clearly and effectively with patients and other external parties in a professional and friendly manner at all times

  • Ability to type 50 words per minute.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, documentation, and interpersonal skills

  • Adaptable to change and ability to operate accurately and efficiently in a fast paced environment

  • Capability to receive, provide, and implement constructive feedback for performance improvement

  • Strong collaboration skills and the ability to successfully work in an in-person or remote team environment

  • Technologically proficient and able to work efficiently in multiple software systems 

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office or Google Suite

  • Knowledge of medical, diagnosis codes and pharmacology terminology 



  • High attention to detail, strong organizational skills, and problem-solving/critical thinking capabilities
