Medical Assistant

About the Role:

Arbor Place, Inc. is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Medical Assistant (MA) to support our team in delivering exceptional care to individuals engaged in substance use and mental health treatment. This full-time position plays a vital role in medication management, clinical documentation, and client wellness support across both residential and outpatient programs. The ideal candidate will be highly organized, adaptable, and committed to promoting recovery in a person-centered environment.

Schedule: Monday–Thursday, 8:00 AM–5:30 PM; Friday, 8:00 AM–12:00 PM
Location: Arbor Place, Inc. – Menomonie, WI

Key Responsibilities:

• Coordinate and manage medication all medication refill requests; coordination with pharmacies and provider.


• Accurately enter medication orders into the EMR, including:
  
  
  
  • New intakes
  
  
  • New medications 
  
  
  • Medication changes or discontinued orders
  
  
  
  


• Conduct medication reviews and document findings.


• Complete prior authorizations. 


• Complete and record vital signs, withdrawal scores or other pertinent assessments in the medical record.


• Administer and document urine drug screens (UAs) for both residential and outpatient clients.


• Pick up medications from local pharmacies as directed.


• Transport clients using a company vehicle when needed.


• Perform daily controlled medication counts at the start of the second shift.


• Scan and upload clinical documents and forms into the EMR.  


• Communicate effectively with providers, residential staff, and outpatient teams to ensure continuity of care.
  


• Participate in team meetings, trainings, and quality improvement efforts.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program.


• Valid driver’s license.


• Ability to pass a Wisconsin Caregiver Background Check.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Current CMA (Certified Medical Assistant) credential through AAMA or an equivalent nationally recognized certifying body.


• CBRF (Community-Based Residential Facility) certification.


• Experience working in behavioral health, substance use treatment, or residential settings.


• Familiarity with electronic medical records (EMR); experience with InSync is a plus.

Physical Requirements:

• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.


• Frequent standing, walking, and occasional driving company vehicle.
