Medical Assistant

Provides medical assistance under the supervision of a physician, physician's assistant, or nursing staff.

Assists in exam rooms by interviewing patients, measuring vital signs, and recording weight, blood pressure, and temperature. Draws blood and gives injections. Documents patient information, and ensures it is complete prior to exam. Ensures exam rooms are clean and well stocked. Sterilizes, cleans, and performs checks on medical equipment. Performs office duties and administrative tasks as assigned.

Education: Requires a two year degree from a technical school or an applicable skilled trades program.

Training Requirements: Child and Adult Mandatory Reporter, BLS

Special Training Needs: CMA certification preferred
