Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated Medical Assistant to join a healthcare team in Tulsa. This role supports providers by assisting with examinations, diagnostic procedures, treatments, and care coordination to ensure effective delivery of patient care. The Medical Assistant will also provide ancillary services, maintain medical records, and utilize advanced clinical knowledge to help meet patient needs.

Key Responsibilities

• Greet patients and show sensitivity to patient needs and conditions.
• Document chief complaints, vitals, medications, and social history in medical records.
• Accurately record services and diagnoses on forms and requisitions.
• Assist providers with exams, procedures, and treatments according to protocol.
• Independently perform ancillary services such as venipunctures and x-rays.
• Maintain patient charts, test results, and correspondence.
• Coordinate care by managing patient calls, scheduling, and prescription refills.
• Use EMR systems and applications to complete tasks.
• Track pending tests, procedures, and referrals.
• Administer oral and intra-muscular medications as directed.
• Obtain authorizations, schedule referrals, and track follow-up services.
• Provide patient education as directed by providers.
• Assist with supply ordering and participate in quality and safety initiatives.
• Ensure compliance with OSHA, HIPAA, and Health System policies.
• Support strong patient satisfaction and work as an engaged team member.

Required Skills & Experience

• Completion of an approved Medical Assistant program OR one year of related experience within the last 5 years.
• Effective interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
• Demonstrated patient care skills.
• Proficiency in PC and EMR systems.
• Strong organization and multitasking abilities.
• Understanding of healthcare delivery processes in a medical office.
