ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Greet patients and prepare them for medical provider examination to include obtaining medical history and vital signs
Instruct patient in the collection of samples and administer testing: urine drug screen, pregnancy, etc
Monitor patients for any reactions to administered medications
Sanitize, restock and organize exam rooms, supply rooms and clinical care areas
Prepare medication orders and refills in the e-prescribing system per the request of the medical provider
Answer phone calls in a professional manner and schedule appointments
Work with Medicaid and other insurance companies to obtain prior authorizations for medications and visits and obtain copay information
Maintain medical supply inventory to include placing orders and verifying receipt
Maintain a safe, secure and healthy work environment by establishing and following standards, procedures and complying with legal regulations
Remain current on job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities
Assist medical providers in administrative and/or other clinical tasks as needed
REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent
Completion of MA program or equivalent, one year related experience preferred
CPR certified or willing to become certified through an accredited program
Possess a basic understanding of clinical pharmacology and medical terminology
Previous experience with scheduling patients, answering phones, ordering and managing supplies
Experience working with patients who are suffering from anxiety, depression, addiction and other mental disorders
Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) preferred
Ability to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
SKILLS AND ABILITIES
Should have a thorough understanding of the cultures and the needs of this population and also the ability to remain professional with both patients and staff
Knowledge of alcohol use disorder and drug addiction as a disease that requires medical support
Ability to interact with patients, families and others in an empathetic, respectful and friendly manner
Ability to communicate proficiently both verbally and in writing.
Demonstrate the ability to respond to situations, crises and emergencies with good judgment
Working knowledge of the Health Insurance Portability and Accountability Act of 1996 (HIPAA) and 42 CFR
Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and effectively manage multiple responsibilities and tasks to completion

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This role is primarily performed in an office building with standard office environment and controlled temperatures. When working outdoors or at a job site the employee may be exposed to construction equipment or other moving objects/equipment, reference job site specifics. The employee is occasionally required to lift and/or move up to 50 lbs. Employee is frequently required to sit, stand, walk, talk/hear, see, read, and personally interact with others.
