We’re hiring an experienced Medical Assistant—referred to as a Health Coach at Ryse—to support both new and existing patients at our Bethesda, Baltimore, and nearby clinics. As a key member of our care team, you’ll be the first point of contact for patients and play an important role in building trusted, professional relationships with them, their families, and the broader Ryse Health team. As a Health Coach, you will:

  • Empower patients to reach their goals by using motivational interviewing techniques

  • Train patients on continuous glucose monitor (CGM) setup and start

  • Utilize CGM data to motivate, educate and empower patients to support their success

  • Collaborate with the Ryse Health team on care planning and support patients in the successful implementation of care plans

  • Communicate with patients through video calls, in person meetings, telephone and messaging

  • Complete initial patient intake during clinical visits including overview of Ryse clinical model, vital signs, and medical history

  • Complete retinal scan with patients

  • Submit records requests for new and existing patients

  • Review records and update charts as appropriate

  • Prior authorization submissions

  • Assist patients with filing medications and medication coverage

  • Patient assistance application submissions

  • Other duties as assigned

About You

  • 1+ years of experience in a clinical setting

  • Motivational interviewing training a plus

  • Phlebotomy or Medical Assistant certification and experience a plus

  • Self-motivated and adaptable to changing processes

  • Ability to balance multiple competing priorities, and keeping track of the little details

  • Passion for the impact of your work on the broader world, and excitement to help reduce the burden of chronic disease

We want you to know
