Medical Assistant (Flex Force)

JOB TITLE: Medical Assistant

LOCATIONS: New York City

SALARY: $18 - $24 per hour

Type: Part-time (ON-call, flex force, 1-2 month term)

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Work closely with the physician to prepare patients for examination and procedure.
• Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations, keeping the rooms neat and clean.
• Interviews patients and records all gathered information in the patients’ chart.
• Uses Ultrasound during interventional procedures.
• Ensure the patient's medical information is up to date.
• Maintaining physician and patient medical equipment and supplies.
• Communicate effectively with provider.
• Support the office coordinator and physician liaison.
• Maintain a quiet and peaceful environment that promotes healing.
• Handle all confidential information with discretion and sensitivity, and within the HIPAA Laws.
• Travel between assigned clinic locations as needed.
• Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED or Associate degree.

• Proven working experience as a medical assistant.

• Knowledge of medical office management systems and procedures

• Knowledge of medical terminology

• Excellent time management skills and ability to multi-task and prioritize work.

• Social perceptiveness and service oriented.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

• Strong organizational and planning skills

Preferred Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree

• 1+ years of experience as a Medical Assistant

• Knowledge of ICD-10 codes

• Experience with medical pre-authorizations
