Medical Assistant for Dermatology Practice (Brooklyn Heights) - Career Growth Potential

Dermatology practice is seeking an experienced full-time Medical Assistant. The ideal candidate must be self-directed and have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Key qualities include: positive demeanor, reliability, detail oriented, well organized, a quick learner, and having sharp time management and problem-solving skills.

Required Qualifications:

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Three years minimum experience in a medical practice, dermatology office preferred
• Phlebotomy experience
• Above average computer skills – experience with EMA and/or AdvancedMD is a plus
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office especially Word and Excel
• Understanding of HIPPA compliance laws
• Team player – we are a small boutique practice
• Must have a negative criminal background and drug screening
• Must pass previous employment verification
• Must be vaccinated against COVID-19

Responsibilities include:

• Rooming patients and scribing quickly and accurately. The office aims to run on-time.
• Assist with surgical and cosmetic procedures.
• Performing blood draws.
• Processing all pathology and laboratory specimens.
• Sterilizing instruments.
• Assisting patients with clinical questions by phone and email.
• Completing prior authorizations and all prescriptions-related tasks.
• Maintaining the rooms and clinical supply list with office manager.
• Maintaining clinical email and voicemail.

Hours:

Monday - Thursday: 8:30am-5:00pm

Wednesday 1-5 pm is flexible administration time.
