Job Description - Medical Assistant for Orthopedics (Kingman location)

Description

Location: Kingman Clinic location 

Position: Medical Assistant for a growing orthopedic practice

Type: Full-time, 40 hours, 5 days per week, no weekends  

Schedule: Monday - Friday, hours vary during open clinic times  

Pay: $17 - $18 / hr plus vacation and benefits 

Responsibilities include: 

· Prep room for provider and patient

· Patient intake and rooming – keeping up with high volume and efficiency   

· Obtain height, weight, vitals, medical & family history

· Communicate with patients via patient portal emails, telephone calls, and one-on-one

· Provide patient education, schedule appointments, answer questions and triage 

· Document patients’ lab and other testing results

· Suture and staple removal

· Draw and prep sterile injections 

Requirements

 

Requirements include:  

· Current Medical Assistant Certification, PREFERRED

- Must have 1-year plus of patient care and/or clinical experience 

· Must have a friendly and professional demeanor

- Must be adaptable and productive in high-volume, fast-paced clinics 

· Excellent customer service and communication skills

· Must be a master in multi-tasking while paying attention to details

· Must be capable of working in a fast-paced environment

· Must be a self-motivated individual capable of working both in a team and independently

- Must understand and comply with healthcare privacy laws  

· Sports Medicine / Orthopedics experience preferred

Benefits details - FBJ offers the following benefit programs (for full-time employees):

• Medical Insurance – Blue Cross Blue Shield of AZ (must work 30 hrs / week or more)   

             o    Medical benefits begin the first of the month following 60 days  

             o    Annually, FBJ contributes the equivalent of $448 monthly to offset the cost for employees premiums

• We are a well-established, private practice providing quality musculoskeletal care to Northern Arizona since 1978. 

• Our center strives to provide state-of-the-art care along with comprehensive medical education and superior customer service.

• Our main location is in Flagstaff, and our secondary location is in Kingman, Arizona. We have 2 other Arizona clinic locations:  Cottonwood and Sedona. 

• Flagstaff Bone and Joint has 24 providers with 8 physicians who are all Board Certified and Fellowship trained.

• Our center provides integrated ancillary services for patient convenience including digital x-ray, ultrasound, custom bracing, durable medical equipment, EMG/nerve conduction studies, and occupational and physical therapy.
