We are seeking a Medical Assistant to provide essential administrative and clinical support to our physician and patients. The ideal candidate is a highly organized, detail-oriented individual with a strong commitment to patient care.

Responsibilities:

Patient Care:

• Prepare patients for examination including taking vital signs, obtaining complete medical histories, and documenting accurately in the electronic medical record (EMR)
• Pre-visit planning such as obtaining vital past records including imaging CDs, reports, and labs so they are scanned and available during patient visit
• Draw medications, prepare and assist with ultrasound-guided procedures and examinations
• Draw blood
• Educate patients on post-appointment care and follow-up appointments 
• Other duties as assigned

Clinical Support:

• Maintain a clean and organized clinical environment
• Manage medical supplies, inventory, stocking rooms
• Complete paperwork and other duties as assigned

Administrative Duties:

• Schedule patient appointments and manage medical records and patient messages
• Answer phones, greet patients, and provide excellent customer service
• Handle insurance authorizations and follow through
• Assist with data entry, scanning, and other administrative tasks as needed

Requirements

Required Qualifications: 

• At least 2-3 years of verifiable practical Medical Assistant experience in a clinical setting
• Strong knowledge of medical terminology and procedures 
• In-depth understanding of referral authorizations process and requirements
• Excellent organization and time management skills
• Ability to work independently 
• Comfortable with venipuncture (phlebotomy/blood draw)

Preferred Qualifications: 

• Accredited Medical Assistant certification
• Experience in pulmonary medicine
• Billingual (Spanish)
• Strong proficiency in EPIC electronic health record (EHR) system.

Compensation will be based on experience

Starting at $21.00/hr
