About the Role

Are you a compassionate, detail-oriented Medical Assistant looking to make a meaningful impact in patient care? As a Medical Assistant, you’ll play a vital role in supporting both clinical and administrative functions to ensure a seamless, high-quality patient experience. This role goes beyond routine tasks—offering opportunities to coordinate care, collaborate with providers, and contribute to efficient clinic operations aligned with our CLS Core Values.


What You’ll Do

  • Provide exceptional patient care and customer service in alignment with CLS Core Values
  • Assist with direct patient care, including patient intake (vital signs, medical history, medication reconciliation, and chief complaints)
  • Prepare patients for examinations, treatments, and procedures; assist physicians and clinical staff as needed
  • Administer injections, perform basic diagnostic tests, and document all care accurately in the EMR
  • Educate patients on diagnostics, lab work, referrals, medications, and procedures
  • Verify insurance eligibility, manage scheduling, and ensure referrals and authorizations are complete
  • Coordinate incoming and outgoing referrals, including confirming network participation
  • Manage patient communications, including phone calls, voicemails, and follow-ups (labs, refills, rescheduling)
  • Process patient admissions and support ongoing care coordination
  • Maintain accurate medical records, including EMR documentation, scanning, faxing, and retrieval
  • Track immunization records and medication samples in compliance with regulatory requirements
  • Ensure exam rooms and supplies are clean, organized, and fully stocked
  • Support both front- and back-office operations to maintain efficient clinic workflows and patient flow
  • Maintain strict patient confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA regulations
  • Ensure compliance with clinic policies, procedures, and documentation standards
  • Serve as a point of contact during emergencies, including initiating emergency response (911)
  • Participate in training, policy updates, and continuous workflow improvement initiatives
  • Travel between CLS clinics as needed to provide coverage and operational support
  • Perform other duties as assigned or required

Requirements

  • Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program required
  • BLS certification required
  • CMA or RMA certification preferred
  • 2+ years of medical assistant experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of insurance verification and referral processes
  • Excellent communication, organization, and multitasking skills
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment
  • Strong medical terminology and clinical knowledge
  • Proficiency with EMR systems and healthcare technology
