Medical Assistant II – Orthopedics & Sports Medicine Clinic
Position Summary
Community Hospital is seeking an experienced and motivated Medical Assistant II to join our Orthopedics and Sports Medicine Clinic. This is a lead-level role that provides clinical support to providers while serving as a resource for the medical assistant team. The Medical Assistant II will help support daily clinic operations, assist with onboarding and training new team members, and mentor staff to promote consistent, high-quality patient care and workflow excellence.
The ideal candidate is a skilled and dependable medical assistant who demonstrates strong clinical knowledge, leadership capabilities, and a commitment to teamwork, patient-centered care, and continuous improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Provide clinical support to orthopedic and sports medicine providers in a fast-paced outpatient clinic environment.
Prepare patients for examinations, procedures, and follow-up visits.
Obtain and document patient histories, vital signs, medication lists, and relevant clinical information.
Assist providers with exams, procedures, and treatments as needed.
Coordinate patient care activities and support efficient clinic workflows.
Serve as a lead resource for medical assistant staff, providing guidance, support, and mentorship.
Assist with training and onboarding of new medical assistants.
Promote consistent clinical practices, quality standards, and excellent patient experiences.
Identify opportunities for process improvement and support team initiatives.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent required.
Completion of an accredited Medical Assistant program preferred.
Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) preferred.
Previous medical assistant experience in an outpatient clinical setting required.
Orthopedics, sports medicine, or specialty clinic experience preferred.
Strong communication, organizational, and leadership skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with providers, clinical staff, and patients.

Compensation & Benefits
Hiring Range: $22.50 – $25.88 per hour
