Location: Muskegon, MI

What You'll Be Doing:


  1. Assist the pediatrician and nursing staff with patient preparation, examinations, and care coordination

  2. Obtain and document vital signs, patient histories, and other clinical information appropriate to pediatric patients

  3. Assist with pediatric screenings, immunizations, and other routine clinical procedures as directed and within scope of training

  4. Communicate effectively with pediatric patients and their parents/caregivers to support a positive patient experience

  5. Maintain clinical work areas, equipment, and supplies

  6. Support efficient patient flow and clinic operations

  7. Ensure accurate and timely documentation in compliance with HCC policies and procedures

  8. Demonstrate professionalism and compassion in all patient and staff interactions

  9. Perform other duties as assigned in support of clinic operations




Job Qualifications: ​


  1. High school diploma or equivalent required

  2. Graduate of an accredited Medical Assistant program required

  3. Current Medical Assistant Certification preferred

  4. Current CPR certification preferred - training available




Special Skills and Abilities:


  1. Basic clinical knowledge and skill level appropriate to education and training

  2. Knowledge of age-appropriate patient care considerations, including infants, children, and adolescents

  3. Ability to establish rapport with pediatric patients and communicate effectively with parents and caregivers

  4. Ability to remain calm, patient, and professional when working with children who may be anxious, fearful, or uncooperative

  5. Ability to seek, accept, and utilize supervision appropriately

  6. Strong interpersonal and communication skills

  7. Ability to document accurately and appropriately

  8. Basic computer skills

  9. Working knowledge of insurance types

  10. Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary healthcare team

  11. Flexibility and reliability to support the needs of the clinical team
