Medical Assistant / Scribe- Radiation Oncology

We are seeking a Medical Assistant that has experience as a Scribe. The ideal candidate will have excellent organizational skills,  skilled at prioritizing tasks, and can communicate effectively verbally and in writing. We have a great working environment and are looking for that special person who has a smile on their face and great customer service. Our Cancer Centers are located in South Tampa and we have one in Riverview. This position is based in our Falkenburg location. We are looking for the team player, the person who is sensitive to our patient's needs and someone that enjoys helping people.

Clinical duties: Taking medical histories and recording vital signs, explaining treatment procedures to patients, preparing patients for examination, and assisting the physician during the examination.

Responsibilities:

• Escort patients to exam rooms, interviews patients, measure vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature
• Document accurate and detailed information of patient encounters in patient’s chart
• Give instructions to patients as instructed by physician or physician assistant
• Ensure all related reports, labs and information is filed is available inpatients’ medical records prior to their appointment
• Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments, prepare sterilization as required
• Take telephone messages and provide feedback and answers to patient/physician/pharmacy calls
• Triage and process messages from patients and front office staff to physicians and physician assistants
• Ensure compliance with all legal and ethical standards

Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred but not required. Epic EHR experience is a plus. May be required to stand for extended periods of time. Must understand medical terminology, anatomy and clinical processes.
