JOB PURPOSE: The Medical Assistant provides patient care and assists the medical provider in any necessary duties or
responsibilities.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Assesses the full scope of patient needs and assist medical provider when meeting with the patient.
· Provides a safe environment for patients and employees through identifying/correcting/reporting health and safety
hazards.
· Cooperates with distribution of resources to maintain a therapeutic environment.
· Maintains interpersonal relationships with patients, visitors and co-workers.
· Accountable for medical practice through planned and continuous professional growth and development.
· Uses knowledge and judgement needed to meet the medical needs of patient.
· Assist with calling in medications for Urgent Care patients.
· Assists with EKG, bedside testing, phlebotomy, and other duties as assigned and within scope of training.
· Register patient visits.
· Helps navigate patients through visit experience.
· Responsible for collection of patient Co-Pays.
· Other duties may be assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS/EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
· High School Diploma.
· Attending an accredited medical assisting program preferred.
· In the process of getting licensed as a Certified Medical Assistant preferred.
· CPR Required.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Physical demands described are representative of those that must be routinely met by and employee to successfully
perform the essential duties of this position. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable qualified individuals
with disabilities to perform the essentials duties.
· Ability to lift minimum 25 pounds.
· Ability to perform job responsibilities in a facility with multiple levels and without elevator or mechanical transportation.
· Operates a computer and keyboard.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
This job operates in an outpatient facility environment.
