Medical Assistant - Urology

Our brand new office is located on the corner of Lumsden and Bell Shoals. It is gorgeous! We recently have a new provider services and managed services agreement with Tampa General Hospital and have increased our patient volume, changed offices to a brand new building, and need your help! We are growing quickly and need someone who is ready to be challenged and grow with us.

Job Summary:

Clinical duties: Taking medical histories and recording vital signs, explaining treatment procedures to patients, preparing patients for examination, and assisting the physician during the examination. We use EPIC EHR and any experience with EPIC would be a plus.

Responsibilities:

• Escort patients to exam rooms, interviews patients, measure vital signs, including weight, blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and document all information in patient’s chart
• Give instructions to patients as instructed by physician or physician assistant
• Ensure all related reports, labs and information is filed is available inpatients’ medical records prior to their appointment
• Keep exam rooms stocked with adequate medical supplies, maintain instruments, prepare sterilization as required
• Take telephone messages and provide feedback and answers to patient/physician/pharmacy calls
• Triage and process messages from patients and front office staff to physicians and physician assistants
• Maintain all logs and required checks (i.e. refrigerator temperatures, emergency medications, expired medications, oxygen, cold sterilization fluid change, etc.)
• All other duties as assigned by clinical coordinator or practice administrator

Bilingual English/Spanish is preferred but not required

Ability to perform phlebotomy and administer injections. We are looking for a team player that can help out with a smile on their face. Urology experience desired but not required. Must have excellent knowledge of medical terminology.
