Roswell Park Care Network is looking to hire multiple Medical Assistants to work at our growing multi specialty locations across the WNY area.

As a Medical Assistant, you will prepare charts for upcoming patient appointments, gather vitals, conduct patient intake as directed, and assist providers during office hours to ensure patients receive prompt, efficient, and courteous care.
Responsibilities:
Prepares treatment rooms for patient examinations; keeping the rooms neat and clean and prepares medical instruments or equipment for use
Escorts patients to exam room, obtain vitals, updates patient history, reconciles medications, allergies, and any required quality data; Interviews patients to obtain patient medical history, determines reasons patient is seeking care, and updates prescriptions
Records and updates information accurately in patient charts; completes chart prep 24-48 hours prior to patient appointment to ensure chart is complete with notes, pathology report, test results, medications, allergies, etc.
Logs accurate data for specimen testing
Cleans and sterilizes instruments and disposes of contaminated supplies; disposes of biomedical waste in accordance with OSHA standards; Empties hazardous waste receptacles when full
Explains treatment procedures, medications, or physicians' instructions to patients
Answers telephone takes messages and forwards messages to the appropriate personnel
Keep supplies stocked and order as needed
Ensures patient and practice confidentiality adhering to HIPAA standards
Maintains a working knowledge of medical terminology
Other duties as required
Requirements
Education/Experience:
Successful completion of an accredited medical assistant education program or phlebotomy program preferred.
BLS Certification is required
1-3 year MA experience
