Medical Assistant / X- Ray Technician - Exciting Challenge

Location: Silver Spring, MD and Bethesda, MD, occasional travel to Gaithersburg, MD
Hours: Full time, Monday-Friday, 8 hour shift (Day shift) - expected to work 32-36 hours/week

Job Duties:

• Our healthcare practice is seeking a medical assistant with basic or limited x-ray training who can perform patient x-rays and report results to our physician team.
• He or she will be responsible for getting clear imaging results, utilizing the equipment properly, keeping patients informed and comfortable during the x-ray process and linking all images (x-ray & ultrasound) to patient's charts.
• Other duties will arise as needed.
• Prepares patients for radiologic procedures.
• Protects patient, self, and other staff from radiation hazards.
• Follows established procedures for patient care and safety, which involves setting up and operating radiographic equipment used in the medical diagnosis and/or treatment of patients and includes implementing infection control procedures for the work area.
• Selects proper ionizing factors for radiological diagnosis. Adjusts/sets radiographic controls.
• Positions patients and takes X-rays of specific parts of the patient’s body as requested by physicians.
• Complies with safety standards.
• Performs other duties as assigned.
• May be occasionally asked to perform MA duties.

Qualifications :

Requirements:

• X-Ray Certification and/or Medical Assistant certification with limited X-Ray training (AART)
• At least one year of medical imaging experience preferred
  • Open to recent grads
• Experience working in radiology
• Spanish speaking a plus
