Medical Assistant-Full Time - Land O Lakes

My Health Onsite manages employer sponsored health and wellness centers. Our medical team takes time to build strong relationships with our patients. No one is rushed in and out, and no one is a "number." Patients (ages 8 and up) may access a range of medical services including x-ray, onsite pharmacy, wellness services, and treatment for acute illnesses and chronic conditions. Our programs go beyond caring for the sick and injured - we make prevention our number one goal.

Summary

Prepare patients for medical evaluation by physicians and nurse personnel by taking a brief history, establishing vital signs, and recording appropriate documentation. Must be patient focused and demonstrate exceptional customer service and interpersonal skills.

Schedule:  Monday: 6am-3pm

                   Tuesday: 6am-3pm

                   Wednesday: 10am-7pm

                   Thursday: 6am-3pm

                   Friday: 6am-3pm

Essential Responsibilities

• Welcome patients and escort to exam room


• Obtain and record vital signs (BP, heart rate, pulse oximetry, height, weight, waist circumference)


• Provide information and assistance to patients


• Perform blood draws, administer injections/vaccinations, and input medical information into EMR


• Prepare treatment rooms for patient examinations; keep rooms neat, clean and well stocked


• Maintain patient confidence and ensure confidentiality of patient care information


• Assist the physician and medical staff with procedures and treatments


• Perform general office duties such as scheduling appointments and answering telephone


• Promote wellness programs


• Complete and document daily equipment checks and calibration

Minimum Qualifications

• High School Diploma


• One year of recent clinical MA experience, preferably in a primary or urgent care setting


• BLS for Healthcare Providers


• Patient focused and demonstrate exceptional customer service


• MA certificate or diploma (preferred)

Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

• Understand CPT and ICD10 Codes


• Proficient knowledge of computer systems including electronic medical record (EMR)


• Ability to effectively communicate with staff and patients using excellent written and verbal skills


• Friendly personality and ability to work well as a team member
