Medical Assistant/Nursing Assistant

Rockford Gastroenterology Associates is one of the premier gastroenterology specialty groups in the nation.  We are looking for  medical and nursing assistants that share our commitment of delivering high quality patient centered care.   Our clinic is open Monday - Friday, daytime hours. 

Responsibilities:

• Presents a friendly, approachable, professional demeanor and appearance.
• Rooms patients, updates the medical record, takes vital signs and prepares the patient for procedures under the direction of our providers and/or a nurse.
• Assists with processing of orders
• Explains treatment procedures to patients; reinforces patient education regarding medication and special diets or testing that has been provided by the nurse or providers (for example, the After Visit Summary). 
• Exam room turn over following principles of infection control. 
• Perform other duties as delegated by the clinic nurse manager

Requirements

• Graduate of an accredited medical assistant or nursing assistant program
• team player
• Basic computer and typing skills
• Prior experience in a fast-paced medical clinic setting preferred but not required.
