Medical Biller

Looking for a highly motivated and positive person to add to our team of highly trained individuals. Must have professional, friendly, and enthusiastic phone presence and ability to interact with patients with a positive CARING impact.

Your responsibilities include but are not limited to assisting the billing department by tracking billing and monitoring collections, checking patients in, validating insurance, answering phone calls, making appointments, and making sure our patients have a 5-star experience.

Medical Biller Duties and Responsibilities

• Ensure patient information is accurate and complete


• AR follow-ups and denials on insurance claims


• Correct and resubmit claims in a timely manner for reimbursement


• Contact insurance companies to determine denial reasons for unpaid claims


• Initiate insurance reconsiderations and appeals


• Collect payments from insurance companies and patients


• Track billing and monitor collections


• Initiate claims for unpaid bills


• Follow set billing processes and procedures


• Performing other duties as assigned
  

Medical Biller Skills and Qualifications

• Proficient knowledge of HIPAA rules and regulations


• Ability to read and understand EOBs


• Knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS


• Knowledge of timely filing for each payer


• Knowledge of medical terminology


• Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time efficiently


• Ability to maintain professional demeanor at all times with patients, insurance companies, and medical staff

Medical Biller Requirements

• High School Diploma or Equivalent


• Completion of a program specializing in medical billing and coding


• BLS certified within 90 days of employment


• Must have at least 1 year of medical billing and coding experience
