Mayo Behavioral Health is seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Medical Billing and Coding Specialist to join our dynamic team. We are a leading healthcare facility that provides innovative and compassionate mental health services to individuals of all ages. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical billing and coding procedures, excellent communication skills, and a commitment to delivering quality patient care.

Responsibilities:

Review and assign CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 codes to all services provided
Ensure accurate and timely submission of insurance claims to payers
Communicate with insurance companies regarding claim status, denials, and appeals
Collaborate with healthcare providers to resolve coding and billing discrepancies
Process and post payments from insurance companies and patients
Review patient accounts for accuracy and completeness
Maintain confidentiality and compliance with HIPAA regulations
Stay current with changes in coding and billing regulations and guidelines
Requirements:
High school diploma or equivalent
Certification in medical billing and coding from an accredited program
Minimum of 2 years of experience in medical billing and coding, preferably in a behavioral health setting
Knowledge of Medicare, Medicaid, commercial insurance, and third-party payer regulations
Proficient in CPT, HCPCS, and ICD-10 coding systems
Strong attention to detail and analytical skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Familiarity with electronic health record systems is a plus
