Medical Billing and Coding Specialist

Overview
We are seeking a detail-oriented Medical Biller to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong understanding of medical billing processes and coding systems to ensure accurate and timely reimbursement for medical services.

Responsibilities
- Review and verify accuracy of billing data and revise any errors
- Prepare and submit claims to insurance companies
- Follow up on unpaid claims within standard billing cycle timeframe
- Utilize medical billing software to process claims
- Communicate with insurance companies to resolve claim denials or appeals
- Maintain patient billing records and update as necessary
- Stay current on insurance guidelines, regulations, and industry changes

Qualifications
- Proficiency in ICD-10, ICD-9, DRG coding systems
- Knowledge of medical terminology and procedures
- Experience in medical billing and collections
- Familiarity with electronic medical records system ATHENA
- Strong attention to detail and accuracy
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Previous experience in a medical office setting is preferred

Job Types: Full-time Employee or Contract

Pay: $40,000 to $55,000 Salary

Schedule:

• 8 hour shift (9:00AM - 5:00PM)


• Day shift


• Monday to Friday
