Medical Billing Associate (Charge Entry)

We are seeking a detail-oriented entry level Medical Biller to do charge entry. This role is ideal for candidates looking to start a career in medical billing. Training will be provided for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

• Enter medical charges in billing software.
• Review provider documentation.
• Verify patient demographics and insurance information.
• Assign basic CPT, ICD-10 and HCPCS codes
• Collaborate with medical office staff to resolve discrepancies related to medical records or billing information.
• Ensure correct dates of service, units, and modifiers
• Identify and report missing or incorrect information
• Maintain confidentiality and HIPAA compliance
• Support the billing department as needed.

 Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent (required)
• Medical billing or coding certificate (preferred, not required)
• Basic knowledge of medical terminology
• Strong attention to detail and accuracy
• Basic computer and data entry skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• No prior experience required - entry level candidates welcome
• Previous healthcare, clerical, or billing experience a plus
