Medical Billing Specialist

***NON-CLINICAL SETTING***

$15-$19/hourly, depending on experience; access to medical, vision, dental insurance, short & long term disability, life insurance, accident insurance, critical illness coverage, and hospital protection policies.

Position Summary - The successful Billing Specialist at S2 Medical Supply works in a fast-paced environment and consults with coworkers, customers, and vendors to manage incoming and outgoing payments for customers orders of durable medical equipment using Brightree software. This highly-organized, quick-thinking individual takes initiative and produces high-quality work in a professional environment that is governed by strict federal and state laws and regulations. The Billing Specialist exhibits a professional phone presence with vendors and customers. This individual is tech-savvy and thrives in the very technical environment of S2 Medical's patient management software. This team player works closely with our Customer Account Managers and Customer Documentation Specialists to coordinate insurance coverage for supplies and to ensure uninterrupted continuity of supply levels.

Responsibilities:

Processing customers orders for billing and following up with insurance companies to collect payment

Communicate outstanding balances to customers and processing incoming check and credit/debit card payments

Collecting vendor invoices to be entered in accounting software for payment

Communicating with vendors and in-house supervisors to manage vendor credits

Utilize Brightree Patient Information and Documentation Management Software

Demonstrates knowledge, skill and ability to recognize and provide age specific care in the treatment, assessment and education of the patient

Requirements

Non-smoker

Better than average computer skills

Working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite

Knowledge of healthcare Environment/HIPAA/ICD-10

Brightree Patient Information and Documentation Management Software knowledge helpful. We will train motivated person.

Detailed and task-oriented fast learner

Prefer a BS or BA degree from an accredited college or university or equivalent work experience
