Medical Business Receptionist - Cardiac Pulmonary Rehab

Location: Hybrid work schedule, must travel to all Munson South region sites 2 times per month (Cadillac, Manistee, and Frankfort)

Schedule: 40 Hours Weekly: Monday to Friday 7:30AM - 4PM

A Day in the Life

• Serves as the first point of contact for patients and their families, providing a welcoming, professional, and positive experience through effective communication, patient interaction, and customer service both in person and over the telephone.

• Coordinates patient scheduling, referral processing, and referral follow-up for Cardiac Rehabilitation and Pulmonary services, including appointment scheduling, rescheduling, and communication with patients and referring providers.

• Verifies patient registration information, insurance authorizations, referrals, and required provider orders to ensure all documentation and approvals are complete prior to patient appointments. Sends welcome letters and other patient communications as needed.

• Supports daily departmental operations through effective communication and collaboration with clinical team members, both on-site and remotely.

• Must be self-motivated, organized, and able to work independently and efficiently from home while maintaining strong working relationships with team members.

• Must reside within driving distance of Munson sites to accommodate on-site responsibilities as needed.

What’s Required - Specialist

• High school graduate or GED. Associate Degree Preferred
• A minimum of two (2) years’ experience as a Medical Practice Business Associate or working in a similar healthcare role.
• Proficient in typing, Windows, and experience with multiple computer systems.

What’s Required  - Associate

• High school graduate or GED
• 6 months to 1 year Customer Service experience required. Usually achieved by previously working with the public with minimal supervision.
• Proficient in typing, Windows, and experience with multiple computer systems.

Munson Healthcare requires all employees be vaccinated or have lab confirmed immunity for Measles, Mumps, Rubella and Varicella. MHC also requires all employees to receive a flu vaccine during the flu season in the year that they are hired and annually thereafter, or receive an approved medical or religious exemption.
