Medical Clearance Specialist - Urgent

The role of the Medical Clearance Specialist is to lead the medical clearance process with patients in the most timely way possible, considering patient safety, and ensuring that patients are cleared at minimum one week prior to their scheduled surgery.

This role is full time, Monday- Friday in office.

Responsibilities:

• Efficiently manage the center’s medical clearance process to ensure patients are cleared timely and safely for surgery.
• The Medical Clearance Specialist will work within the center and report to the General Manager.
• Medical Clearance Specialist will obtain a signed Medical Records Release Form (at time of TAF signing) and ensure all further preventative questions are answered prior to patient leaving.
• Medical Clearance Specialist will create and initiate a medical clearance email thread, per patient, including Medical Intake Form, Medical Records Release Form, and Vitals.
• Sedation CRNA and Surgeons will reply with instructions and category number. From there, the Medical Clearance Specialist will follow those instructions given to work with the patient in requesting all necessary records to ensure that the patient is cleared for surgery. They will also be communicating with the GM and the Surgeon in that center to ensure all best practices are in place.
• Have the ability to build relationships with providers so that collaboration is seamless and patients are scheduled quickly and efficiently.

Requirements:

• Clear Cat 2 in one week, clear cat 3 in two weeks
• At Least 40 hours per week
• Have a high social intelligence to navigate complex situations with patients, the GM and the doctors.
• Be proactive in getting medical clearances through daily follow up & getting the surgeon involved when necessary.
• Organization
• Self-starter
• Understanding how the med clearance flows in the mini map
• Ensure all eligible patients are scheduled no longer than 3 weeks out.
• The ability to have a good working relationship with the GM’s and surgeons in the centers.

• Patients scheduled in a timely manner for surgery
• Average time for med clearance is 3 days
• Medical refunds are lowered
