Medical Coding Specialist

Description

 The ideal candidate will have experience in nursing home charges and coding, as well as clinic coding. This role is essential in ensuring accurate coding practices and compliance with the No Surprise Act. 

Requirements

Key Responsibilities:

• Review and analyze medical records to ensure accurate coding of diagnoses and procedures.
• Assign appropriate codes for nursing home charges and clinic services in accordance with industry standards.
• Stay updated on coding guidelines and regulations, including the No Surprise Act.
• Collaborate with healthcare providers to clarify any discrepancies in documentation.
• Conduct audits to ensure compliance with coding practices and identify areas for improvement.
• Provide training and support to staff on coding procedures and best practices.

Skills and Qualifications:

• Certification in medical coding (e.g., CPC, CCS, CCA) is preferred.
• High School diploma or equivalent
• Strong knowledge of ICD-10, CPT, and HCPCS coding systems.
• Experience in nursing home and clinic coding is highly desirable.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in coding.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Effective communication skills, both written and verbal.
