• 1-3 years experience in medical collections, billing, or insurance verification required

Hunter’s Ambulance Service is a licensed commercial ambulance company owned and operated by Hartford HealthCare Emergency Medical Services. The company operates six locations across central and southern Connecticut and provides both emergency and nonemergency medical care to facilities and communities throughout the state. Your Role:

The EMS Medical Collections Specialist will be in office. They will be responsible for:

• Work Self Pay aging
• Analyze accounts insuring Patient Demographics are correct & Insurance has been billed appropriately
• Call patients to discuss balance, collect payments & set up payment plans as needed
• Process Return mail
• Assist in preparing refunds
• Verify Insurance eligibility via multiple websites
• Assist with Probate/Estates
• Problem solving skills
• Computer knowledge & Excel knowledge
• Ability to work independently and take initiative
• Ability to work in high volume setting
• Excellent communication & organizational skills
• Keep a professional demeanor when speaking to patients
• Other duties as assigned
