Position Overview

Seeking an experienced veterinarian to lead a small animal practice as Medical Director. This role combines clinical excellence with leadership, mentorship, and oversight of medical standards while delivering high-quality patient care.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the veterinary team and maintain high clinical standards.
  • Mentor veterinarians and support staff.
  • Guide medical decision-making and improve clinical workflows.
  • Support daily hospital operations and foster a positive team culture.
  • Provide preventive care, diagnostics, and chronic disease management.
  • Perform general soft tissue surgeries, including spay/neuter, mass removals, and foreign body surgeries.
  • Deliver dental procedures, including extractions with radiographic support.
  • Promote compassionate, patient-centered veterinary care.

Qualifications

  • DVM or VMD degree from an accredited veterinary school.
  • Eligible for veterinary licensure in Maryland.
  • Minimum 3 years of small animal practice experience.
  • Strong skills in general soft tissue surgery and dentistry.
  • Previous leadership or mentoring experience preferred.
  • Excellent communication, collaboration, and coaching skills.
