Job Description - Medical Equipment Technician



This job

Our technician will be responsible for providing setup and education in the use of home DME (durable medical equipment) for our patients/customers. 

 

Job Duties:


  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of current DME products and services offered by the company and all applicable governmental regulations

  • Educate customers in the proper use and care of all equipment in the home setting

  • Comply with all applicable company policies and procedures

  • Manage territory to reach service goals and deliver equipment including oxygen as required in accordance with industry standards

  • Process all orders in a timely, accurate manner

  • Promote services and products to referral sources in the community as appropriate

  • Assist with implementation of quality improvement program to meet company policies

  • Safely drive and maintain the company vehicle

  • Perform routine preventative maintenance and simple repairs on equipment as required in accordance with company policies

  • Report equipment hazards and/or product incidents as required in accordance with company policies and procedures

  • Develop and maintain a working knowledge of current HME products and services offered by the company

  • Retain knowledge of and consistently adhere to procedures for the use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE), infection control, and hazardous materials handling.

  • Maintain patient confidentiality and function within the guidelines of HIPAA

  • Completes assigned compliance training and other educational programs as required

  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Requirements:

Minimum Job Qualifications:


  • High School Diploma or equivalency

  • Customer service background essential

  • Health care technician experience would be considered related experience

  • One (1) year of HME delivery experience preferred

  • Valid and unrestricted driver's license in the state of residence

  • Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Must be able to regularly lift and/or move up to 80 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 100 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 160 pounds

  • Must be able to stretch, bend, stoop and crouch and perform moderate to heavy physical labor while moving equipment and supplies
