The Medical Inspection Technician is responsible for performing detailed inspections on pultruded and fabricated parts to ensure all products meet specified quality standards and customer requirements. This includes visual and dimensional inspection of parts, some of which have machined features. This role is critical in maintaining product quality and conformance.
Requirements
Duties & Responsibilities
Perform incoming, in-process, and final inspections of pultruded and fabricated parts using measurement tools such as calipers, micrometers, height gauges, pin gauges, and tape measures.
Inspect parts for surface defects, dimensional accuracy, hole placements, chamfers, angles, and other machined features as required by work instructions or prints.
Interpret and work from part drawings, specifications, and inspection plans.
Document inspection results clearly and accurately on inspection sheets, quality reports, and digital systems.
Identify non-conforming parts and escalate issues appropriately to the team lead, supervisor, or manager.
Ensure proper maintenance, calibration, and care of inspection tools and gauges to guarantee accuracy and reliability.
Perform rework or sorting activities as necessary to meet team and production goals.
Collaborate with production, machining, and quality teams to ensure products meet customer and internal standards.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of the work area in accordance with 5S standards.
Perform additional duties as assigned.

Education & Training
High school diploma or equivalent (GED or HSE).
Knowledge & Experience
1+ years of experience in quality inspection or manufacturing preferred.
Proficiency in reading and interpreting technical drawings and blueprints.
Strong knowledge of precision measuring instruments and quality inspection techniques.
Skills & Abilities
Strong attention to details and accuracy is essential.
Must be dependable, self-motivated, and willing to assist other departments as necessary.
Good communication skills and a collaborative mindset.
Willingness to work in a team environment and take direction from supervisor(s).
Basic understanding of quality systems and non-conformance reporting.
Basic math skills.
Ability to lift and move up to 50 pounds and stand for extended periods of time.
Frequently required to reach and use hands and arms continuously.

The physical demands are representative of those that must be met by an associate to successfully perform the essential functions of the job. While performing the duties of this job, associate is regularly required to sit, stand, stoop, climb, walk, use hands, talk, and hear for a minimum of eight (8) hours per shift.
This position requires working in a manufacturing environment with exposure to resin chemicals, fiberglass, and machinery. Personal protective equipment (PPE) such as gloves, safety glasses, and respirators may be required.
Hours / Shifts
1st Shift: 7:00am-3:00pm EST. Hours may vary depending on customer needs.
