Responsibilities and Duties:

Independently operate equipment for various sonographic examinations
Review requisitions to ensure alignment with patient history and requested exams
Perform examinations, including abdominal (tumors, cysts, etc.), aorta, chest, neck, carotid artery, leg veins, and arteries
Assist radiologists in invasive procedures and conduct gynecological ultrasound exams
Perform quantitative Doppler measurements and utilize color flow/power Doppler when needed

Receive task assignments and supervision from the VASDHS Chief Technologist or Supervisory Technologist.
Adhere to quality assurance standards established by JCAHO.
Align services with healthcare industry standards, VA policies, and regulations.
Demonstrate proficiency in English and necessary technical skills.
Ensure compliance with VASDHS policies, procedures, bylaws, and medical staff protocols.
Seek approval from VASDHS Chief of Staff or Medical Director before introducing new procedures or services.
Provide and wear personal uniforms on VASDHS grounds.
Demonstrate proficiency in computer and technology use.

Minimum Requirements:

Have a current and valid ARDMS license with advanced disciplines to include two of three licenses in Abdominal, OBGYN, and RVT.

Must be certified and licensed by the State of California in radiography and fluoroscopy for General DRT, DRT CT, and Interventional positions.
Must hold Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.
Must be familiar with all radiographic diagnostic fluoroscopy, surgery procedures, portable (including C-Arm), and routine general diagnostic exams.
Must possess PACS work experience.

Minimum of two (2) years of current work experience in specialized modality.
