Medical Lab Scientist / Medical Technologist I/II/III - Hiring Immediately

Pride Health is seeking candidates for a Medical Lab Scientist / Medical Technologist I/II/III

Specialty: Required Generalist with Blood Bank, Coag, Heme, UA, Chem, Micro with Florida Medical Technologist Licensed – MT or MLS

Location: Coral Gables, FL

Duration: 6+ months Contract to Hire Role 

Shift: 3rd shift Sunday- Thursday 10:00 PM - 6:30 AM

Job Details & Requirement:

· Responsibilities are interchangeable within job titles of medical laboratory scientist (MLS), medical technologist, or clinical laboratory scientist.

· Perform routine and complex technical procedures and functions according to departmental Standard Operating Procedures.

· Bachelor’s degree in biology, Chemistry, Clinical Laboratory Science, Medical Technology or meet local regulatory (CLIA & State) requirements.

· Medical Lab Technician [2-year MLT degree] or Medical Lab Scientist / Medical Technologist [4-year BS]

· ASCP or AMT certification is required. (If required, you should be open to eligible /registered candidates)

· State Medical Technologist license may be required (will be listed in the requirement if needed).

· 1-5+ Years of clinical laboratory testing experience is required.

· Generalist with Blood Bank Experience, proficient in testing in all Chemistry, hematology, Urinalysis, and Coagulation.

· Lab Information System - LIS or Millennium Cerner Epic or Soft Bank

· Vaccine requirement: All vaccines listed are required - Hep B, TB, MMR, T-Dap, Flu, Varicella, Covid, and Colour vision screening. *Covid declination would require the candidate to wear a mask on-site* Declination form accepted for Medical or Religious reasons.

Roles & Responsibilities:

· Determine the acceptability of specimens for testing according to established criteria.

· Monitor, operate, and troubleshoot instrumentation to ensure proper functionality.

· Demonstrate the ability to make technical decisions regarding testing and problem-solving.

· Prepare, evaluate, and evaluate new reagents or controls.

· Report accurate and timely test results to deliver quality patient care.

· Perform and document preventive maintenance and quality control procedures.

· Identify and replenish testing bench supplies, as necessary.

· Assist with processing of specimens when needed.

· Maintain a safe work environment and wear appropriate personal protective equipment.
