Position Summary:

The Medical Laboratory Technician, performs clinical laboratory procedures and analysis (pre-analytical, analytical, and post-analytical) according to California Laboratory regulations, under the general direction of the Clinical Laboratory Director or designee.  Will perform and report waived and moderate complexity test and exam procedures as classified by CLIA in Chemistry, Hematology, Microbiology and Immunology except moderate complexity testing that requires microscopy and Immunohematology.  Requires on-site supervision by a California licensed personnel according to the California Laboratory regulations.

Qualifications:

Requires Associates Degree or equivalent in required science courses (chemical, physical, biological, or clinical laboratory science) according to the California Laboratory Field Services Regulations for Medical Laboratory Technician.

Requires minimum of completed pre-licensure training in the California State Department Public Health accredited training program.  Post-licensure experience in an acute care hospital laboratory preferred.

Requires Current valid California license as a Medical Laboratory Technician, prefer American Heart Association BCLS Certification.
