Job Description
To perform laboratory procedures that provide data which the practitioner can use to determine the presence, extent and cause of disease; recognize errors that invalidate test results, carry out quality control procedures, and implement new procedures. Employee will manage and maintain an efficient movement of patients through the clinic and assist medical staff as directed.
Minimum Qualifications
Certification or accreditation as a Medical Laboratory Technician or Clinical Laboratory Technician by one of the following organizations: NCA National Certification Agency; ASCP American Society of Clinical Pathologists; ASCLS American Society for Clinical Laboratory Science; International Society for Clinical Laboratory Technicians; American Medical Technologists.
Preferred Qualification
Experience working with confidential and technical medical information and the ability to maintain strict confidentiality at all times
Strong organization, prioritization and excellent attention to detail; precise work
Strong communication and soft skills (work ethic, attitude, problem-solving, etc.).
Demonstrated commitment to fostering a diverse working and learning environment.
Data entry skills sufficient to navigate electronic medical record (EMR) and lab record-keeping.
CPR Certification
Work safely at all times, which includes but is not limited to, participating in and completing all required safety trainings, as well as performing all job tasks in accordance with Minnesota State University, Mankato policies and procedures utilizing appropriate tools, equipment and personal protective equipment.

The academic year working days and hours for this position will be Monday through Friday; 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The summer working days and hours will be Monday, Wednesday, Friday; 8:00 a.m. to 2:00p.m. Working days and hours during breaks (holiday, spring, summer) will be reduced and variable based on department need.
