Medical Lien Assistant

Description

Anthony Bledin M.D. Inc. is seeking a detail-oriented and organized Medical Lien Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for handling and processing records related to personal injury cases and liens, in compliance with HIPAA. This role ensures the timely and accurate delivery of records, supports communication with legal contacts, and assists in day-to-day office operations.

Schedule: Monday–Friday, 8:30 AM – 5:00 PM 

Primary Responsibilities:

• Send out medical records upon receipt of signed liens
• Follow-up on unsigned liens
• Respond to lien balance requests from attorneys
• Request and collect payment for medical records (when applicable)
• Process medical imaging requests
• Follow up on dropped and subbed-out personal injury cases

Secondary Responsibilities:

• Perform routine filing of medical records and supporting documents
• Process incoming payments and prepare payments for posting
• Assist with general operations of the medical records department as needed

Requirements

• Prior experience in medical records, legal processing, or healthcare administration preferred but not required
• Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and medical record protocols
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Excellent communication and documentation abilities
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and manage sensitive information responsibly
• Must be technologically proficient
